Link: Francisco Liriano
I know a lot of the readers are interested in my thoughts on Liriano, and hopefully I'll get to analyzing his before/after motions myself, but until then, check out what Chris O'Leary had to say on the subject. My thoughts run parallel to his; I like the earlier hand break and the positioning of the elbow.
Be careful of people who tell you that Liriano's velocity and stuff are down because of his revamped mechanics. It is entirely possible that he is still recovering from UCL replacement surgery and needs some time to adapt.

At 18 months, aren’t we past the “he might need to heal” and on to hoping it’s just mental … or that the mechanical changes haven’t taken away something? He might end up safer and healthy, but Triple-A good.

There was also an article on Liriano at baseball intellect, which I think O’Leary refers to in his post:

I tend to think a later hand break is better for the pitcher in terms of stuff and deception. But there is no clear right answer because there are players who have an early hand break but possess great stuff. They make up for the early hand break in other ways though.
