Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Jake Peavy

So I've been reading all of these Jake Peavy rumors for weeks now and it seems no SD fans are willing to acknowledge that Peavy may have a problem.  As a Braves fan, I was wondering if you could take a look at his mechanics and see what you think the future holds for his elbow.

I found this by Chris O'Leary and was curious if you came to the same conclusions or not.  If you can't find good video or have to much on your plate already, I understand.  Thank you in advance, I appreciate it.

Oh, memories.

I have been driving the Jake Peavy bandwagon for years now. I fell in love with his mechanics and his dominance early on in his career, and I loved his fiery temper. Before I started this site, I used to bug Carlos Gomez (author of Bullpen Mechanics on The Hardball Times) on a weekly basis, begging him to do a profile on Peavy. He finally did, and I was very appreciative.

Anyway, none of that has anything to do with your request, but I’ll definitely get around to it. For what it’s worth, I share most of Chris O’Leary’s skepticism.

Thanks I appreciate it. Peavy has certainly been one of the better pitchers in baseball so far in his career but all of the circumstances surrounding him made me worrisome about the Braves acquiring him. Leaving perhaps the weakest hitting division in baseball, perhaps the best stadium to pitch in and the concerns over his elbow not to mention any team who acquires him has to guarantee his option and give him a full NTC really worried me. Chances are better than 50/50 that a NL team would see a return on the investment but still it worried me. :)

Do you keep a schedule by chance of when the requests may be coming up? Or at least some sort of order to look forward to if you aren’t sure exactly when an analysis will be up. Just curious, thanks again and good luck with the site.

Nope.

No schedule – stuff is just done as I feel like it. If I had good video of Neftali Feliz, he’d be first up, but the rest are somewhat random. Demand plays a role, though.
