"A-Rod is definitely a true Yankee now," said Greg Camello, 26, of Queens. "When he’s in a clutch situation now, he feels confident and raises his game to the next level. I think Derek Jeter is starting to rub off on him. Or maybe Kate Hudson. It definitely has nothing to do with the fact that he is a very good hitter in the midst of a very short stretch in which he happens to be batting well. He’s just different now."

I heard the radio broadcast last night talking about how A-Rod was 0-for-21 in home playoff games with RISP with the Yankees, and now he's 7-for-17 or something. Boy, that Jeter guy finally got to him, right?

Fantastic. Also, the bit about Jeter is awesome:

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has announced that he will no longer bother coming to the plate in non-clutch situations, because they are a waste of time and "beneath him." The new policy will take effect immediately.

That's so great.
One of my co-workers hates A-Rod, calls him A-Choke, and loves Derek Jeter. Although the whole “Derek Jeter’s defense is overrated” line is now passe, I have to admit that I find myself rooting just a teensy bit for A-Rod this postseason to shut up all the people who think that Jeter is somehow God wielding a giant sequoia and A-Rod is a six-year-old trying to slap the ball in play.
It’s truly a sad state of affairs when anti-intellectualism gets a Rangers fan to root for the Yankees.

My perfect scenario
Is that A-Rod homers in every at bat he has in the World Series, Derek Jeter takes an 0-for-the-series, and Philly still wins it.

To be fair, he did once try to slap a ball. Not so much to put into play as much as, well I don't really know why.
