Driveline Baseball - My Coaching/Training Site
I've finally launched my training/coaching site, available at drivelinebaseball.com. All the static content is finally included along with a copied article from this site (the supplements post).
On the "About" page, you can see a sample high-speed video clip that I used in a training session with one of my pitchers.
Comments and suggestions are welcome. Thanks for checking it out!

You really need to film outside or invest in a lot more lights. Also tell the pitcher to strip. Throw in turfs and compression shorts. It’s too tough to see where most of his joints are when he’s wearing the loose clothing.

Lighting
We film in more lit areas than that, typically – I chose that clip because it adequately masks the face of the pitcher in question. When we do full motion analysis (using HU-M-AN), we have them wear shorts and turf shoes only.
Unsurprisingly, no one was interested in volunteering to have that displayed on the page. :)

Are you filming with a single camera? (out of curiosity)

Not for the full motion analysis, no.

So then you’ve been able to reconstruct the pitcher in 3D?

Yep
Still testing and calibrating, but I figured out how to correct for some of the things we talked about via email. It’s by no means a final product (still have to write the programs for much of the work I want done) but it’s a big step in the right direction.

I’m confused. Are you performing all the calculations by hand then?

Also, I didn’t know you were from Cleveland. Where about?

HU-M-AN has some calculations in it (X-acceleration graph, center of mass, etc), but not all of the programs that I wanted to develop – so I have yet to implement those. It’s very rudimentary now.
I was born in Cleveland proper and my family moved to Parma when I was in grade school.

Cool site. Good luck.
