Around SBN: Interview With UMD Athletic Director, Dr. Debbie Yow

Wow, this is UGLY

I stumbled across this article on the best Reds prospects, and the .gif of Kyle Lotzkar shows some downright terrible mechanics...

I added this to the front page because it's worthy of gawking by all users to this blog.

I think you can figure out my feelings about this arm action: Extreme hyperabduction, very stiff followthrough, that forced scapular load, ugh. Brutal.

Wow

He’s a case study on everything you can do wrong mechanically while pitching. The article notes that he’s young enough to work on his mechanics, but with the stiff leg and the ridiculous Inverted W, the kid’s got a lot of work to do.

Nothing wrong with that arm action.

The timing of that kind of arm action to the ‘go’ move is what must be watched.

I agree

Ultimately the only thing that matters is where everything is when force is applied. In this case, it’s pretty bad.

A Reds pitching prospect with atrocious mechanics?

Color me so NOT SURPRISED! I think I’m gonna have a heart attack from not being surprised!

really?

the system is a little thin having just graduated Bruce and Cueto, but still it is pretty solid up and down.

Shouldnt be a problem...

I feel bad for the guy; he’s a time bomb.

Adoptive Parent of Francisco Peguero. He can throw, he can run, he can hit(fastballs), and he's Dominican. What else do you need to know?

20 seasons???

I mean… regardless of arm action, the odds have to be tremendously against that, right?
