Help Me Help You: A Request for Article Topics
First, I would like to thank Kyle for the opportunity to help him here on Driveline Mechanics. Some of the work I will be doing is integrating Pitch F/X data into Kyle's mechanical examinations.
The second part of what I want to do here is where you come in. As it can be seen from my handle I follow the Royals and know when there might be issues with their pitching staff. Here are a list of Royals I have done an analysis on:
Look at Farnsworth and his Nibbleness this season
Luke Hochevar : Joakim Soria's Future Setup Man?
Analysis if Mahay before and after injury
Comparison of Soria between this Year and Last
This is where the rest of you come in. There are only some many Royal's pitchers I can write about, so I will take article recommendations as FanShot, FanPosts or emails (wydiyd at hotmail dot com). Make the questions something that can be compared or analyzed such as, has a pitcher that changed teams got better/worse, is the pitcher injured, how does the pitchers curve compare to last year, was an umpire squeezing a pitcher, a great hitter - pitcher duel, etc.
Once I get the request, I will email the requester that I have the idea and will delete the FanShot or FanPost with the request and will the requester know when the article is published. I will do about 1 piece per week and timely piece will take priority. One idea to remember when making requests is that there is only Pitch F/X data available for this season and the 2 previous ones.
Again, I would like to thank Kyle for the opportunity and hope I can answer some of your questions.

Haha
I love how it auto-linked your name to the pitcher.

Yeah, that's not going to cause problems...
I’m a Rangers fan, and you should have seen my face when he emailed me last week.

I am not just going to repeat numbers from sites like Brooks or Fangraphs
I need something to look at.
As with the first article I plan on doing is compare why Brad Lidge is doing much worse this season compared to last, besides the knee.
It should be an comparison of the pitcher from one point to another.

Oh
This would be a great time to analyze Trevor Hoffman vs. Heath Bell, see if the Padres should of kept Hoffman

I don't think you are getting the point of TucsonRoyal's articles
He wants to use PITCHf/x to look at things like how a specific chance in approach/release point/stuff has affected a pitchers performance, or how a pitcher changes his game plan with runners on base or in high leverage situations.
Anyone could look at Trevor Hoffman vs. Heath Bell without the use of detailed PITCHf/x. You could just look at their current stats for that.

What's the deal with Scott Baker?
His xFIP is 4.44, while his ERA is 5.88. It seems the main reasons for this are….
He is giving up tons of homeruns. He has always been a flyball pitcher, but his HR/Fly rate is about twice what it normally is.
He seems to implode when things go wrong this year. This has lead to a 64 lob%.
If you could enlighten me as to what seems to be causing these problems I would be greatful. Thanks.

Did I post a fanpost about Randy Johnson?
I know I wrote one out, I just don’t know if I published it.
Aaron King is still my homeboy... iffy mechanics and all
If Dustin Pedroia played in Seattle, not many people would be talking about him.
